Razen, Saisons, WUM
presented by ArsVitha & meakusma
Razen
Brecht Ameel – oscillator and harmonium
Kim Delcour – recorders, reeds and shaker
Since their debut in 2010, Brussels-based Razen have been aiming to use the unique timbral and drone characteristics of their chosen string and wind instruments in improvised and instinctive music that mixes pre-industrial, spectral, and ethnic dream tones with trance and medieval mysticism. For this concert, Razen will be Brecht Ameel on oscillator and harmonium and Kim Delcour on recorders, reeds, and shakers, returning to their original lineup. They released the mesmerizing Rain Without Rain album on Stefan Schneider’s TAL label in 2024 and have furthermore released on Important Records, Hands In The Dark, les albums claus, (K-RAA-K)³ and many more. They released their The Night Receptionist album on Meakusma in 2018, delving into a concrete kind of mysticism very much their own.

Saisons
Alice Hebborn – composer and live electronics
Nao Momitani – piano
Alice Hebborn, aka Saisons, makes electronics, piano, and the sounds of nature evoke the vastness and endlessness of wild landscapes. All sounds influence, transform, and complement each other, creating a moving whole that is both stable and fragile. Saisons makes contemplative music, focused on sound texture and its micro-details, suspended and always maintained by a slight tension. Repetitive, but never quite identical, always in flux, like all elements in nature. Saisons is a testament to Hebborn’s deep connection to the world around her and her desire to create music that invites reflection on our place within it. Pianist Nao Momitani collaborated on Saisons’s debut album, a deep dive into our ongoing relationship with our natural surroundings.
