SOMMERLOCH, WALLERODE, BELGIUM, 15.08.2025

Come summer comes a new project, a new idea. Sommerloch is a one-day event with two stages at the beautiful Hof Gut Eidt in Wallerode, Belgium, some three kilometers from the town of Sankt Vith. The farm sports the perfect conditions for an event like this, with a big barn where concerts will be held and a beautiful meadow with beautiful old trees where we will set up a second stage. From 1999 to 2002, we curated the electronic music program for the Alive Festival right around the corner from this very location, with the then lineup featuring 808 State, A Guy Called Gerald, Speedy J, Swayzak, Robert Hood, Prefuse 73, and many more.

On the lineup for this first edition of Sommerloch will be samizdat, Chunky, Good Sad Happy Bad, Ernst Reijseger & Hans P. Kjorstad, Aylu, Jabu, Naomie Klaus, soFa, MIMI, and many more to be confirmed.

CAMPING AND ACCOMMODATION

Those who visited the Weekender Festival in 2023 might remember the farm and its beautiful location right on the Ravel bike path as one of the camping sites of the festival. Sommerloch visitors can camp for free in the field of the farm. The farm itself has showers and toilets available. Although a one-day event, people are allowed to camp for two nights. There are bed-and-breakfasts and hotels around in the neighboring town of Sankt Vith. The Sommerloch website will provide an overview of all accommodation options available.

HOW TO GET THERE

We are setting up a bus transfer from Brussels to Sommerloch after the successful bus experiment we did for our party at Open Ground in Wuppertal. Tickets for the bus are available in the webshop of the Sommerloch website. If we do not manage to fill up the bus, we reserve ourselves the right to cancel the trip. In this case, the bus fare will be transferred back without any fees or expenses. The bus will leave Brussels in the afternoon of the 15th and will drive back when the event is over, at 3 AM. Although our shuttle bus will of course be the most comfortable way to travel, for those of you taking the train, you can take the Ostend-Eupen line, get out in Eupen and there take bus 23 to Wallerode. People coming by car should take the E42 highway which passes only a few kilometers from Wallerode.

More information about Sommerloch and all practicalities is coming soon, so stay tuned! See you in deep summer!

arkoada x meakusma

This coming weekend, in Berlin, don’t miss out on Meakusma x Arkaoda.

From November 12th till 14th, together with the great Arkaoda club in Berlin, we have set up a genuine three-nighter, featuring live performances and DJ-sets by Julia Reidy, Spivak, Thomas Bush, Laila Sakini, Bassae, Pretty Sneaky, Arthur, Gazza, Malvern Brume, TIBLSC, ML, Edition D’Art, 2 Morph, Sensu, Fog Puma, Iris, Yeahlena, Ugne Uma and Meakusma DJs. Two years ago, Arkaoda invited us to do a Meakusma night, we are thrilled to now go back.

From Julia Reidy’s music for processed and acoustic instruments, conjuring up non-traditional song forms which combine unstable harmonic territories, rhythmic elasticity and abstract narrative over-stretched, episodic forms, to Spivak, whose work is a play on the nuances and poetics of pop, her live performances jumping from intimate sonic liturgies to bursts of energetic and often deconstructed 90s inspired techno, to Thomas Bush who produces impressionist and experimental work full of distanced reflection and heartfelt alienation, to Laila Sakini’s work full of emotional breadth and ennui using a modest palette of piano, electronics and voice, to Pretty Sneaky who fuses dub basslines and dub aesthetics with free jazz-dynamics and who recently released on EP on Meakusma, to Malvern Brume whose experimental sound pieces move in an idiom all his own, to TIBSLC’s hazily ambiguous yet meticulously detailed sounds, hypersensitive to fleeting midnight moods, and many more. The full three days at Arkaoda will showcase some of the very unique talents at work in contemporary and electronic music.
