Pub & Pliiant live
Pub & Pliiant live (Ampoule, Delsin, Vertical Form, Pliiant - UK)

Well known for integrating any particular style or sound, Pub provides the melodies for the dissonant, percussive clutter created by Pliiant. On their only EP together, released on Ampoule, they reshaped the formulaic structures of electronica and experimental hip hop to set these genres back on track towards freestyle variation and improvisation. This show at Katakomben will be the first time these two exceptional musicians appear together on stage - not to be missed!

Herrmutt Lobby live
Herrmutt Lobby live (Eat Concrete, Thin Consulation, Confined - BE)

Hailing from the notorious 4800, the Herrmutt Lobby is composed of “nerds extraordinaire” Kadah Vresky, Rawakari and Back & Forth, and whoever else happens to drop by also. Separately they’ve already delivered several releases. Rawakari released his debut EP on Elf Cut in 2001, followed by releases on various compilations [Finesouris, Thin Consolation, Panoptic, On]. Kadah Vresky released their debut LP on DUB in 2002, and supplied tracks for compilations on MAS, !K7, DUB, EU, Cyvik and On. Members of the romantically inclined Fistfucking Crew [whose debut LP leaves nasty stains under the nails], Back & Forth, after acquiring a reputation for their live performances, have recently finished a first EP, as yet unreleased. Guest sound supplier, Jean Mix was recently elected Vervier’s Mister Commodore 64.

Voluntarily sequestered in the Merlin HQ [and other dubious locations of ill repute], for days on end, without any contact with the outside world or so much as the time of day, Hermutt Lobby are essentially these massive electronic jam sessions, selected, filtered and arranged for your optimal listening pleasure. The next step is to take these sounds out of the comforting environment of smoky, dim light bedrooms, and into the spotlight, onto the stage, in front of an audience. They drink their coffee black, short, no sugar.

Peter Van Hoesen
Peter Van Hoesen (T2X, Lan Muziq, Foton - BE)

When it comes down to combining the best of many musical worlds, Peter Van Hoesen can say he's been doing it for a while now. Deeply rooted in the Brussels electronic music scene as DJ and producer since 1993, he is considered by many as a man with multiple musical talents: from straight-up dancefloor jackin' techno to advanced abstract electronica. His music has been released on his own labels Time To Express and Foton as well as through Berlin's Lan Muzic. Always a busy bee, he is active as a DJ, producer, sound designer and composer for contemporary dance and theatre.

Peter's sound is best described as bass-heavy, 6 am warehouse techno. His DJ and live sets never fail to add that little bit of extra bassline deepness prevalent in his productions. With a sharp ear for new sounds and vibes his musical approach is distinctly forward looking, while strongly connected to a deep knowledge of electronic dance music's rich past.
